Serve Homemade Bread!

I've been reading an elderly friend's autobiography. One story from her childhood involved eating at her aunt and uncle's house after church. She acknowledged that all the food was probably good, but she only remembers her uncle's fresh homemade rolls. I was reminded of the lasting memories that homemade bread can bring.

What if you want to upgrade a boring meal at home and make it more interesting or memorable? Here's one way I do it!

Make the dough for Bread Machine French Bread and divide it into 4 or 5 portions to make smaller French rolls. Par-bake and freeze them (for up to 6 weeks). At a moment's notice, I can pull them out of the freezer and brown them in my air fryer or conventional oven for a quick and fabulous accompaniment to my next meal. The smaller size makes them easier to freeze and bake. See the pictures below for more details.

Note: This recipe also makes good submarine buns.
